My name is Heikki-Jussi and I have worked at Pinja since 2012. I like solving problems: finding simple solutions to complex problems together with customers. When customers are satisfied and feel that they get their money's worth, I can be proud of my work.
At Pinja, I can do meaningful work and have influence on what I do. I am a member of the DevOps core team, in which I can also influence internal technical company policies, together with the other team members.
We have an open, inclusive and honest workplace culture. Office humor flourishes! My workmates are nice and cooperative. Their approach to work is professional and motivated and I can trust that work gets done even though not always the most meaningful task.

I started to study information technology at the University of Jyväskylä with software technology as my main subject. I was particularly interested in programming and teaching it.
During my studies, I started a part-time job as a teacher of elementary and game programming at the University of Jyväskylä. We used the C# language, and for game programming, the Jypeli library developed at the University of Jyväskylä, built on the XNA framework.
In 2012, I got an internship job at Pinja as a test-oriented programmer in the Evondos medication dispenser project. For the rest of my student time, I worked part-time at Pinja as a programmer in the Muster vehicle inspection system team.
In my Master’s Thesis, I studied students’ opinions on programming. After graduating, I continued at Pinja as a full-time Software Developer.
I spent a year in Kuopio establishing the local office there. At that time, I had already moved to the software development team developing customer-specific solutions. At the same time, I also participated in a Business Intelligence project with warehouse establishment as my role. In customer projects, I started to concentrate on the Azure environment.
The DevOps core team was assembled in 2018 and I became a member of the team. The team provides consultation in the selection of company internal technologies and supports sales in technological areas – that is, what kind of technological solutions can and cannot be sold to customers. In addition, the team develops company internal tools and operating procedures.
At Pinja, I can do meaningful work in a good group of people and have influence on what I do.
